To what extent is a person of the Buddhist faith accepted within a pluralistic Australian society?
Though Australia is pluralistic when it comes to religions and Buddhism is a generally well accepted religion in Australian society, people of this faith can still be discriminated against. Dealing with still learning about the rituals and ethics of their faith and having someone make you feel bad about it can be very stressful and unhealthy especially for a young person in this belief. Because even though this religion is very accepting, it’s not always accepted even in a religiously pluralistic society like Australia.
